Revlon Lip Butters in Berry Smoothie & Peach Parfait

Hello!

So this product is pretty much old news by now too, but regardless I shall be writing about them: Revlon Lipbutters.

According to the Revlon website, the Lipbutters contain mango, shea and coconut butter for their moisturising properties and they come in 20 shades, though that may be in the US as I don't recall seeing 20 different shades in my local Superdrug/Boots, but then again I don't live in a city.

Funnily enough, back in April I had heard of the Lipbutters but wasn't in a position to go out and buy any, then my Aunty came to stay while I was out of it after having my wisdom teeth removed and she had one - she's ahead of me with what's hot!

She had it in Berry Smoothie which is a very nice pink, so I decided to give that one a go as I'm not a big fan (anymore) of paler pink shades, as well as Peach Parfait, which is a nice peachy gold (well it's in the name).

Revlon Lipbutter Berry Smoothie
Berry Smoothie is a nice pink colour that isn't too pale.

Revlon Lipbutter Peach Parfait
Peach Parfait is a peachy colour with a golden shimmer.

Both have a shimmer to them, they are more sheer than a regular lipstick (but you can build the colour up) and given that they are lip butters they are also quite moisturising - I found myself using one when I couldn't find my lipbalm earlier which isn't something I'd do with a lipstick. I also don't worry about using them when my lips are dry, lipsticks often highlight dry or chapped lips whereas I haven't found that these do.

What are your thoughts on these Lipbutters? What colours do you own?

  1. I always put vaseline on before putting mine on because I have such dry sensitive lips but after one application it usually stays for around 3 hours, better than any lipbalm!

    2. Can't believe I never replied! Sorry!

I do love my Carmex for my lips, but I find if I put lipbalm on before any lipstick or the lipbutters, it doesn't apply as well. Weird!

  5. i've been seeing these bad boys everywhere! one of these days i'll actually pick one up, ha ha! :)
truthfully, when i saw these a few months ago the packaging kind of deterred me from buying one -- i just think "cheap and gross" when i look at the plastic tube. but that's just me being weird!
love your little blog, by the way :) i'm officially suscribed!

    1. Thanks! Boots have occasionally had them on offer in there, so it's worth keeping an eye out or Superdrug's 3 for 2 offer :)
